Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) – Overview
The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is a government body under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India. It is responsible for recruiting staff for various technical, non-technical, and paramedical posts in the Indian Railways — the world’s fourth-largest railway network.

RRBs were first established in 1942 as "Railway Service Commissions."

In 1985, they were renamed Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs).

Currently, there are 21 RRBs across India, each catering to a specific region (e.g., RRB Chennai, RRB Mumbai, RRB Allahabad).
📍 Functions of RRB

Recruitment – Conduct exams for various railway posts (ALP, JE, NTPC, Group D, MI categories, etc.).

Notification Release – Publish centralized and region-wise employment notifications.

Examinations & Evaluation – Conduct Computer-Based Tests (CBT), skill tests, typing tests, and document verification.
